Subhas Chandra Bose - The activities of a dead ghost from 1945 to 1948 - Theory

It is hard to claim with 100% accuracy the activities of Subhas Chandra Bose between 1946 to 48. However, some facts and logical analysis can help us in constructing a theory. First, Deben Sen accompanied by Joglekar saw Subhas Chandra Bose in Marseilles airport in 1946. Around the same time De Valera, the president of Ireland, and a great friend of Netaji, was ill. British communist leader Gallacher claimed that Bose secretly visited UK and Ireland. Bhagwanji claimed that he met Will Durrant, the famous historian, and Ariel Durrant secretly, with a specific request. Apparently, Will Durrant was surprised that he took such a risk just to serve his motherland's interest. Ariel Durrant said that for the sake of his motherland he would be risking his life a thousand times. The meeting was a secret one. Therefore it can be surmised that Netaji went to Ireland to meet De Valera and also met Will Durrant. It can be surmised that some section of the Russian Communist Party passed on the

Remembering Rashbehari Bose

Rashbehari Bose's birthday went on 25th May, unnoticed. There was hardly any tribute paid to this great soul by the Indians. Possibly he is forgotten in Japan as well. That is because Japan has sadly become a vassal state of USA, forgetting her own culture and legacy. Rashbehari's contribution to the freedom movement of India can never be forgotten. For about 10 years since the bomb attack on Lord Hardinge, Rashbehari was the enemy number 1 of the British Empire. The British Lion had to accept defeat in front of this great soul. despite their best attempts and great international network, they could not touch Rashbehari. Yet, Rashbehari had to pay a great price. The British intelligence in Japan wanted to eliminate him at any cost. Toyoma San's Black Dragon Society rendered him every form of protection. Yet, Rashbehari and his young wife had to move constantly from one unhealthy place to another, which took a toll on the poor lady's health. She died only eight years aft

The complete and absymal failure of the criminal justice system to deliver justice

Sometimes back I wrote a piece on the rottenness of the criminal justice system in our country. Today, I am numbed by the extent of the rottenness. The Supreme Court of India has failed the citizens of India yet again, by denying justice to a four year old girl and her parents, by commuting the death sentence of a rapist murderer. And the panel included one woman judge.  The sheer hypocrisy is evident from the process of delivering justice, more than the outcome. If the judges deliver justice by quoting literature, how different is the Supreme Court from the sharia courts that deliver justice by quoting scriptures? Atleast those sharia judges believe their scriptures. Fundamentally there is no difference. The reason for outrage is the absolute lack of scientific rigour in the process of delivering justice. Forget about the fact that the judgement did not take into account the fate of the innocent victim, how brutally she was raped and killed. Forget even the fact that the insensitive &

Response to the Lady who attacked Ramakrishna Math and Mission on the issue of celebrating Christmas

Dear Ma'am, Writing this to you as a devotee of the Holy Trio and a spiritual aspirant. After going through your letters I am very sorry to humbly put forward that there are some gaps in your understanding of the Ramakrishna Vivekananda ideology and philosophy and unless you are a spiritual practitioner yourself, the gap will remain. However I'll try to address some of the contentions raised by you. As far as my knowledge goes, more than worshipping a personality called Jesus Christ, Ramakrishna Mission and Math celebrate the birth of an ideal - of renunciation and sacrifice for the benefit of mankind. This monastic ideal is not bound by any narrow limitations of religion or geography. This is a fundamental divergence from the way Christianity worships Christ, the person whose womb to tomb story is essential for the very survival of that religion. Since Belur Math celebrates an ideal, there is no need for any historical personality to ever exist. The ideal of renunciation - the

Axis of Evil

The bugle has sounded. The axis of evil is on the march, its a matter of time before they do a coordinated strike. The axis includes Russia (aiming at Ukraine and thereafter Western Europe), China (aiming at Taiwan and thereafter South Asia and trying to score a point with US), Iran (taking on Israel and hoping for cooperation from Syria, Egypt and Turkey), Pakistan (you guessed it - India- Hindus), Turkey - Islamic Caliphate in the middle east. They are still having some internal troubles among themslves and that is the reason why they have not been able to launch a coordinated assualt, but soon self interests will prevail and initial successes will make them hungry for more. They have taken ISlamic fundamentalists with them as their foot soldiers to do the dirty work and the leftist cabals across the world as their intellectual capital for doing their bidding. They have handsomely paid the media of various countries and have instituted their best men in those media organizations as

Why Indian Criminal Justice System needs an overhaul along with the mindset of the judges

The criminal justice system of India is a rotten, outdated judicial system, a legacy of the British raj, subsequently reinforced by political and other biases of the judges themselves. Particularly repugnant is the attitude of the judicial system to the women and children victims of rape, molestation and other atrocities and their extreme reluctance to award death penalty even for the most abhorent crime, in the name of liberalism. They deny justice to the victims who are often maimed for life. A cace in point was the judgement delivered in the case of brutal rape of nurse Aruna where the victim was in a vegetative state for the rest of her life and the the perpetrator was awared only a seven year RI by the esteemed and honourable judge (If I do no use these adjectives I'll be dragged for contempt of court - that's the best the criminal justice system can do for good citizens who question its "dharma"). Unfortunately again, we as a coutry have forgotten our dharma, ou

Why I will not vote for Narendra Modi

In a previous post titled Why I will vote for Narendra Modi, I had argued that as a politician Narendra Modi has greater acceptability than other other politicians. Modi is evolving. Modi 1.0 was decisive, was active in dismantling a system of corruption and nepotism which had become the norm in the last 60 years. Modi 1.0 had also dismantled the regional satraps and their dynastic rule and blatant display of power. Modi 2.0 is a meek shadow. Starting by becoming a Gandhi bhakt and trying to build his saintly image, Modi 2.0 has shown that he is just a canny politician who is more concerned about his image and popularity above everything else. He is a builder of his own brand. Just as Mahatma was enamoured by his own title and tried very hard to protect it, even at the cost of National interest, Modi 2.0 has tried very best to protect his image of "Vishwas" with occasional doses of "Vikas". It started in a promising note, with teh article 370 imposition and the ena

Attack on the Hindus in Bangladesh and the lack of courage of the Hindus

The Hindu community in this subcontinent is either extremely apathetic towards its own religion or is extremely selfish to protect its members. For centuries now they have resigned themselves to their fate, being meekly submissive to their rulers or being direct collaborators to them, in the process remaining as second class citizens known as Dhimmis under Islamic rule. The orthodox Islamic hardliners view Hindus as impotent, devoid of any courage to even protect their own religion, and view Hindu girls and Hindu properties as their own that need usurption, forcefully, under state patronage. Of course not all Muslims share these views, but the hardliners are too powerful. A handful of them control the religion and the politics. Good Muslims remain quiet and submissive. On the other side, there is some truth in the assertion that Hindus as a community are divisive and cowards (much like the erstwhile Jews who were hated in Europe). Hindus, like Jews, have suffered multiple genocides be

The Scenarios are unfolding - Threat is looming large

One who sees can see it all, one who doesn't see can see none of it. World is no longer peaceful - its in metastable equilibrium and is heading rapidly towards a giant conflagration. The Bear is encircling the continent in its neighbourhood. It has its score to settle with Country U, it will start with that and proceed towards its erstwhile enemies that had their armies graveyard in the Bear's territory - for the fallacy of attacking it. The two economic giants will increasingly find themselves threatened by internal forces, that will be a harbinger of the external one. The island, that was once a mighty Empire where sun never set, has auto piloted itself in the path of destruction - its own Karma is drowning it in the Atlantic of sorrow. In the Middle East a Dangerous fanatic Jihadi Government nurtures the ambition of reviving the Caliphate. The fire breathing monster in our neighbourhood actually was testing water when it was on the border. It does want that territory but it

Ila Bose - Subhas Chandra Bose's niece who played a stellar role in his career

Several people who had contributed significantly in Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's life remained behind the shadows. Their contributions were silent and almost like worship. One of them was Ila, Subhas Chandra Bose's niece, daughter of Sejda Suresh Chandra Bose. Ila was devoted to Subhas and was also his nurse during illness. It was Ila's devoted service that helped Subhas Chandra Bose recover quickly from his illness since he returned to India in 1936 and was placed under arrest/detention. When a critically ill Subhas had to go to Tripuri Congress he had with him his Ma Janani Prabhavati Devi and Bibhavati Devi, brother cardiologist Dr. Sunil Bose, and Ila Bose, his devoted niece who looked after his every affair. Subhas Chandra Bose had to stay for three weeks in Jamdoba to recover from the illness and Ila stayed with him during this entire period nursing him back to health. Ila's devotion led Subhas Chandra Bose to select her as one of his trusted aides during his dari

M.N Roy aka Narendranath Bhattacharya - Communist leader and traitor to the cause of Bagha Jatin

Bagha Jatin's trusted lieutenant was Narendranath Bhattacharya, who he sent to Batavia for negotiations. Bagha Jatin's trust on Narendranath Bhattacharya was not liked by some of the revolutionaries of his group. But Jatin saw the fire in him and entrusted him with a huge responsibility, that of negotiating the supply of weapons for the planned revolution in Bengal in 1914. The shipment never came and Bagha Jatin, together with Chittapriya, died a hero's death fighting against a mighty army and police force with a help of few Mauser pistols - pistols that were picked up during the Rodda Arms Heist. It is to be noted that when the Rodda Arms Heist plan was proposed in a meeting of the revolutionaries, Naren Bhattacharya mocked the plan and dubbed it as impossible. The impossible was made possible by the determination of Haridas Datta, Shrish Pal, Shrish Mitra and others. The great Narendranath Bhattacharya escaped to Russia, became a Communist leader and when he came back to

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose - a few questions regarding the Marriage Controversy Part 2

The part 1 of the post is given here The issue has also been discussed at length in https://www.netajisubhasbose.org/forum/general-discussions/subhas-chandra-bose-s-marriage-controversy-few-questions The below answer is response to a question raised by an esteemed member who had asked why should there not be a scientific investigation in this issue esp. as it concerns one of our greatest heroes. All claims must be subjected to rigorous scrutiny before accepting, in a scientific way, not through speculations and propaganda. Even if we set aside the claim of Gumnami Baba or Bhagwanji, there are three major factors that come up which make this issue controversial, without any prejudice. 1) Netaji never spoke about his marriage - such secrecy in personal matters is uncharacteristic of Netaji. His personal life was an open book. Only matters of national interest were kept in secret. He even claimed to Dr. Ba Maw, in a reply to his question, that he was not considering marriage unless India

Had Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose been alive - why did he not come out?

A common and key question of the detractors. The answer is complex, but we can make an attempt to simplify it.   If Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose did indeed survive and live a secluded life, he did it on purpose for the sake of the country as his coming out would have jeopardized his plan, his sadhana. Now let us think for a moment what Netaji would have been deeply disturbed about the independence of India. It was the Partition of India, a very idea that he stood staunchly against, he warned his countrymen time and again about the devious plan of Britain to deliver a crushing blow to India, leveraging the communal Muslims who wanted a separate state. Jinnah was merely a puppet in the hands of Anglo Saxon Imperialism and so was Nehru and other Congress leaders. Gandhi was helpless as he had lost his credibility and will after 1942. Only Subhas was the stumbling block. He would have been sorely distressed by seeing the condition of his beloved Bengal, millions of Hindus butchered, hundreds

Moplah Riots and massacre of Hindus in Malabar - August 1921

According to Dr. R.C Majumdar, Moplah riot was a direct offshoot of the Khilafat movement that resulted in large scale massacre of mostly Hindus by the armed militant Muslims called Moplahs, Arab settlers from 9th Century A.D, in the Malabar province of South India (present day Kerala). Throughout 1921, preparations of a large scale riot were held through the large scale collection of weapons and gathering of a band of desperados. The local Muslims were further agitated by the violent speeches of the Ali brothers and the resolutions adopted in the Karachi Conference. On August 20, the district administration in Calicut attempted to arrest leaders possessing arms and that triggered a violent rebellion across the entire district. The rioters damaged roads, telegraph lines and railways. Few Europeans who were present were murdered with brutal ferocity and the administration was paralyzed. The rebels proclaimed Khilafat kingdom and proclaimed a certain Ali Musaliar as the ruler. The main

Daily Express (London) caption on Subhas Bose as Quisling of India, and Pandit Nehru's reaction

source Netaji papers - National Archives. File 24(28)/56-61/PM. On 10th January 1961Daily Express of London published a picture of Anita Bose meeting Nehru under the title, "Daughter of India's Quisling meets Prime Minister of India." A certain Mr. Longman wrote to Dr. B.C Roy, the then C.M of Bengal, highlighting the caption and alleging that none of the Indian journalists in London, whose main function had been to attend to lunches and dinners and throw cocktail parties, had bothered to protest against the article. There was characteristics inaction from the High Commissioner of India in Britain. The writer alluded to the fact that because of this lack of self respect among Indians, India was ruled by a tiny country like Britain for two centuries. He also pointed out that such an ignominy brought to any other icon of any other country would have sparked a severe reaction from that country.  Dr. B.C Roy took note of this letter and sent a missive to Pandit Nehru, asking

Bengal Volunteers - The Great Organization that had terrorized an Empire for three decades

Source: Freedom Portal The dreaded Bengal Volunteers was founded by Hemchandra Ghosh, who had started the journey of this organization as Dhaka Mukti Sangha. In April 1901, Hemchandra as a young man came in contact with Swami Vivekananda. When asked about religious discourse, the Swami flared up and said that an enslaved nation had no other religion than to destroy the very power that had enslaved it. He kindled the passion, the fire of fighting for freedom in a group of young men with Hemchandra as one of the key person. Hemchandra was also profoundly influenced by Ananda Math of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, which had outlined the struggle of a group of all renouncing monks against a diabolic and oppressive rule. Hemchandra established a secret society and named it as Dhaka Mukti Sangha. In 1905 he had come in contact with P Mitra, founder of Anushilon Samity. Mukti Sangha obtained many esteemed members which included Alimuddin Ahmed, Dr. Surendra Bardhan, Shrish Pal, Haridas Datta, Kh
