Sectarianism, Bigotry and Intolerance - the attack on Ramakrishna Vivekananda ideology by a certain "Consciousness" cult - Part 1

Dear devotees and followers of the "consciosuness" cult,

I call you a cult because you don't even deserve to be called as a sect, let alone be a religious organization. I call you a cult because by usurping our most loved God ideal of Krishna, you have merely emulated the fundamentalism, hatred and bigotry espoused by the Chruchianity for centuries. I call you a cult because that's what you are, fundamentally. You call yourselves Hindus, just because you worship this usurped ideal, agreat personality who stood for detachment and dispassion and who gave us our most sacred text - the Bhagavat Gita, who lifelong fought against asuras, against bigotry and hatred. You take his name and promote the same bigotry and hatred. In your vitriolic attack on Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrisha you and your so called adherants ( a large majority of them being foreign nationals and non Indians who have scanty understanding the wonderful catholicity of Hinduism and of Indic cultures) you have displayed arrogance and hatred towards the core Hindus values. which leads me to wonder and which should lead your Hindu dharma and India lover followers to wonder (if any such persona exists among your followers) if your organization is truly a spiritual organization or a missionary organization out to promote certain ideaology funded by foreign entities who have dubious intentions.

1) You have accused Swami Vivekananda of the terrible sin of smoking and therefore according to your followers he was lustful, could not control his senses and therefore not fit to be called a dharma guru.

My Answer:

Swami Vivekananda was a smoker, so was his Guru Sri Ramakrishna, so was HIS Guru Tota Puri, so was Vivekananda’s Gurubhais like Swami Brahmananda, who were all spiritual giants. Smoking is one of the means to essentially aid a high and lofty spiritual person whose mind always soars into the metaphysical realm, into the Cosmic Consciousness, to keep it down to the worldly level so that these great teachers can teach. Else if they are always immersed in the bliss and joy of the divine reality (samadhi), how will they be able to make their minds come down into the earthly plane and teach their message to the mankind. As the natural propensity of our mind is to go down to the worldly and mundane, the natural propensity of these spiritual giant’s, incarnations’ minds to soar up to soak in the Brahma consciousness. It takes them great effort to bring the mind down to our level. Even those great souls who did not smoke, had some other idiosyncrasies to bring their mind down to the earthly level. Worldly people take them to be mad or crazy. It is of no use to judge them from an earthly perspective.

A sadhaka or a spiritual aspirant should be choosy about food because food can be sattviki, rajasi or tamasi and can help shape their tendencies thus acting as a collaborator or a hindrance to their sadhana, but these great souls do not have to as they are already realized. A Paramahamsa like Vivekananda does not have any restriction of food, unless they voluntarily abstain from taking certain food for benefit of mankind, to teach them what is good or bad for them. None of their actions are selfish, every action is meant for teaching people on an individual or mass basis. So please do not try to interpret their actions in your way but rather try to follow their ideals. Ahimsa is certainly the highest ideal for a sadhaka, for a realized soul what is the difference between meat and vegetables? everything is consciousness. They will have to take something to maintain their physical body which otherwise will drop and they will not be able to complete their mission. In order to keep their body on the gross plane so that they can complete their mission they eat whatever chance brings to their way, without discriminating.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, judge realized souls and their behavior on a worldly scale. Unless you are spiritual yourself you will gain nothing out of that.
