A global problem that seems to have no solution

Terror activities are a global phenomenon. Gone are those days when a few countries including India were victims of terrorism from across borders and everybody else would sit in their comfort zones and either empathize with or ridicule their claims. 9/11 in 2001 changed all that. Now every country on this earth is vulnerable from terror attacks and hence cannot sit comfortably. Everytime there is a terror attack in one part of the world its a grim reminder to others that their turn will also come. Nobody can now ignore the fact that terrorists are emboldened further and further by the success of their attacks to carry out another attack elsewhere. More innocent blood will spill and the usual reactions will come from all quarters - politicians, human rights activists, ordinary people. Some are angry reactions demanding the heads of all terrorists and finding who are behind all these, some will merely say terrorists have no religions, some will hold candle light vigils, some will appeal for peace and calm and some will try to defend the terror activities in the name of prior offences committed to their people. These are all predictable. But they are now no longer very effective.
It is to be borne in mind that the terrorists have a huge support base. That is the reason why they are so daring. They enjoy support among politicians of all hues, human rights activities, big businesses who fund their operations, military and religious fanatics. Its a huge interest base, one which probably is so powerful that it would need a Hercules to clean the system. Also possibly corruption, drug trade, human trade, flesh trade etc. which exist globally are some of the key financiers, including rich businessmen from some of the countries who have a vested interest in continuing with terrorism as a global strategy.
So it would seem that all is lost. we cannot win the battle against terrorism, esp. when there is no political leadership and will. Some countries have made themselves terror free through constant vigilance but do not mind terrorist activities to happen in other soils and would not shy away from sponsoring some other countries which aid and abet terrorism. Some others are still in denial mode. Some others actively support terrorist countries for their self interest, and the list goes endless.
What however is needed a strong will and determination to weed out terrorism by forming a global army and for this a leader who can champion the cause of innocents rather than restrict himself or herself within the boundaries of narrow selfish domestic and political compulsions is the most important requirement. That leader must be able to convince other world leaders, garner support from like minded, disregard the human rights organizations and leftist liberals and ensure a coordinated military and social strategy against the terrorists, their financiers, sympathizers and supporters. A vicious and diabolical entity needs an equally if not more vicious treatment. The tree must be uprooted from its roots so that it does not sprout again. In the Treta age possibly Rakshasas were the terrorist equivalent. They used to kill, torture and maim at their own will and used to target rishis and others who were righteous. It took all the might of a Rama to kill most of them. In Mahabharata the asuras in the guise of kings were the terrorists - like that of Naraka or Jarasandha. It called for the direct involvement of a mighty Krishna to destroy them all by force or by intelligence and diplomacy. In the past two thousand years the barbarians were the terrorists. But determined kings and leaders prevented them from getting the upperhand, like Saknadagupta in India who fought the Huns or Vikramaditya who fought and kept the Sakas away. However in this age this is still a distant dream in global scenario and more innocent bloods will spill before the terrorists, the modern form of rakshasas, are destroyed by a leader whose advent perhaps will be to fulfill that mission. History is a witness, it had happened in the past, it will happen again.
